Great our Festivity is a macaronic setting of words by Andrew Carter and William Grant (Head of Classics at Queen Margaret’s School, Escrick) for SATB choir and organ. Alternating 3/4 and 3/8 bars provide this lively carol with much rhythmic interest. The piece concludes with pealing bells in the organ part and a surprising final cadence.
